Come experience the wonders of this beautiful historic farm, once home to George Husmann, legendary wine pioneer. See how the early settlers not only persevered, but thrived in the mid-1800s German settlement, growing grapes on the hilly terrain of the Missouri River Valley. Tour restored historic buildings, adorned with period furnishings, meet majestic Shire draft horses and enjoy all of the attractions that will transport you back in time and back to nature.
Like many farms, the terrain at Hermann Farm Museum is a combination of hills, flat ground, uneven ground, steps, stairways, some gravel walking paths as well as a tram some might have problems boarding. With some of the gravel paths, the site is rugged in places and may present challenges for people with mobility issues, particularly in wet weather. Although some find it manageable with a wheelchair, walker or stroller, others will find this difficult.
If you need any special accommodations or have any questions regarding navigating the farm, please call us at 573-486-3276 before you come so that we can meet you when you arrive, help you determine the challenges you may have, and assist you in any way possible. We are here to make your visit to Hermann Farm Museum a positive experience. Some paths have ramps at entrances for your convenience, and our restroom facilities are handicapped compliant.
