Navigating the Farm:
Hermann Farm Museum is a working living history farm, set on almost 200 acres of pristine Missouri rural landscape. We recommend that ALL visitors check the weather before they come, and wear appropriate outdoor clothing and sensible footwear is a must.
Like many farms, the terrain at Hermann Farm Museum is a combination of hills, flat ground, uneven ground, steps, stairways, some gravel walking paths as well as a tram some might have problems boarding. With some of the gravel paths, the site is rugged in places and may present challenges for people with mobility issues, particularly in wet weather. Although some find it manageable with a wheelchair, walker or stroller, others will find this difficult.
ADA accessibility is provided in some of our buildings, however be aware that many of the structures are historically correct and in an effort to protect the buildings integrity they may require a few steps. Please call with any questions.
If you need any special accommodations or have any questions regarding navigating the farm, please call us at 573-486-3276, before you come so that we can meet you when you arrive, help you determine the challenges you may have, and assist you in any way possible. We are here to make your visit to Hermann Farm Museum a positive experience. Some paths are ramped at entrances for your convenience, and our restroom facilities are handicapped compliant. We are currently exploring grant funding to improve accessibility to our unique site.
