Civil War Days

Saturday and Sunday, September 24-25th from 10-4 both days.

Come join us for a weekend perfect for all generations!    Events to take place at Hermann Farm with encampment of confederate soldiers, artisans, craftsmen, displays and demonstrations and tours of the camps and historic barn and outbuildings.

The 5th Cavalry Regiment will encamp at the old grain elevator and along First Street and Gutenberg filling the East end of town with a living history spectacle.   Visitors can share in family friendly food and activities and learn firsthand about everything from musket volleys to hard tack and goober peas.  Yank and rebel reenactors on hand to bring history to life.   Come in costume and be part of the re-creation of America's past.  For information contact 573-486-FARM.

Hermann Farm & Museum Commissioned 3 Hand Carved Civil War Eagles by woodcarver Vernon De Pauw for the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War. The eagles will be on display at the Hermann Farm Stable and the central bay of the Hofgarten the weekend of the event.
